I have a 1957 WD-45 gas and would like to know the best sparkplug for this tractor. Brand?Number? Heat range? I think I've asked enough questions!! Thanks in advance.

Check "spark plugs" and the rest is easy to follow.  You can probably do similar for most any brand on their web page.  If you don't work your tractor hard, you might consider going up a heat range or two.

Champion plugs are anything but a champion.  I like the autolite 303, or the equivilent ACDelco.

I use champions in all my tractors, don't see any trouble with them. Hear people complain bout them all the time nobody ever realy said why tho.

have you guys ever thought about using a .460 reach protruded plug over the 3/8 the allis head has a built in anti fouler for distillate but on gas today getting more of the plug exposed is a plus in my opinion.

Ditto.  They don't work nearly as well in my car as NGK and I had considerable trouble with Champions in the tractor.  The Champions always fouled out quickly. Perhaps it's a matter of finding the correct heat range. I've had much better luck with AC and Autolite.  That's all I'll say.

When we sold them we loved the AC 45, 47, and 48, depending on the shape of the engine.  However, now the plug of choice if the Auto Light.
Check with SteveNJ.  He will know the right one.  I think 303, 295 but am not certain.
Good Luck!

I've had bad luck with Champion plugs failing "prematurely" to say the least. My Dad used to say Champion doesn't make spark plugs they make trouble.

Anything of the right heat range will work in these 1400 rpm engines. Mine runs on used AC44 out of my 350 camaro engine. Runs like a hound and starts in any weather. We did the same thing 40 years ago when the tractor worked all day.

I used Autolite 295's in my WD and they worked very well.

I use Autolite 295 in my '45.  Champion plugs foul out and my '45 isn't an oil burner, it doesn't even smoke when it's started.
