Well I need my 180 pump overhauled and they want $1800 for the kit, no labor here in Iowa. $1900 for a brand new isn't out of line.

guess it just depends on if you really have to have a "new" one. I got a rebuilt hyp pump for my 200 from Cook tractor for $825 there is a $125 core charge. So... for $700 i have one that works like new. Maybe this helps.

its priced right, if it was truley rebuilt it would cost way more than 825.00 the seal kits alone are 75.00 apeace and you need three of them, not to mention the brass wear plates and gears if needed plus bearings , my guess is the one overhauled was just seal kits at 210.00 dollars plus labor. just my 2 cents. there are a lot of different so called overhauls, some are just outside cleaning and the real ones are expensive,

A lot of times You can just replace the wear plates to get the pump back to spec. If you need gears and bearings it can get expensive fast.
I think I recall seeing somebody offer a new pump for less than that though. I think it was less than a grand. It was a new aftermarket pump.

You may want to consider replacing plates and backup seals in your "working good" pump. The one on my 220 had been run "leaking by" long enough to erode the housing behind the wear plate to where the new "squiggly" backup seal had no support in one small spot. The old seal was blown out in that spot.Took a new pump to fix it. Had it been resealed in time, the erosion likely would have been prevented.
