I was wondering how much work it would be to change a F/G flex head that was on a F to a G. What does it all involve, do you need different parts and if so are the they still avalible? I was looking to buy just a straight G floating head but it seems none are to be found close by and if they are there junk so I found this F/G 13' flex head with long divivders for $1000 but dont know what it takes to switch it over. Thanks Kurt

Not sure what changes would need to be made. The throat is the same between an F and G, so the drive system with the chain should be the same. Not sure if the G has the aux. hydraulics to run the reel height and speed, but I imagine it would. Shouldn't be much you have to change, but maybe others will know more.

Find you a JD flex head and build you a adaptor. Will never be sorry. MACK

I am very pleased with the job our 315 flex does on our F2. Cuts just as good or better than many of the neighbors new combines, and is pretty well worn out.
