i can remember going to auctions 30 yrs ago and you could buy them all day long for $15.00 to $25.00

Interesting find. So I guess now the price on these are driven by their antique / collectable status. What is the significance of the "white top"? Did other versions have an AC orange top? If so, which is considered the earlier versions, white top or orange tops?

I never used to pay these roto-balers much notice, but thanks to this board, my interest in them is growing, as well as with AC in general.

There was one posted on ebay about a year or two ago that looked like brand new!!! I mean it looked like it was never even used. I hope someone on here bought it. Ryan

White tops are the newer ones.

I've never actually operated one but I have seen them in action. They are pretty neat old machines but not very practical IMO. The bales are awkward to handle and you have to start and stop too much while baling. Great collector machines but I wouldn't want to have to depend on one to feed my livestock.
