Sometimes having a good Allis friend living in the right place is a real life saver. I bought this 1997 Chev. pickup last week, and was still operating it as I did with the Dodge with the Cummins in it. Thought I could sneak a few more miles out of the gas tank as it was still reading as some was still there, of course I had my lovely and with more common sense wife along as we were going to finish up a little Allis Chalmers equipment deal we had made up by Tomah. Well all of a sudden the long past memory of running out of fuel violently reared it's ugly head and we are suddenly in the dark and cold along interstate 90 highway, different truck with no flashlight no blankets no nothing, but my cell phone, and a not so very pleased wife. So when I asked what we were going to do, she very calmly, maybe a little sarcasticly said why don't you call one of your Allis friends(why didn't I think of that} Shortly there after Kevin from the Dells was gracious enough to go get some gas and deliver it to the stranded! I just have to say the
allis family is far and wide and oh so much help when a need arises. I was very thankful for that tonite.

Nothin like Orange friends! I was hauling a backhoe back from the west side a couple of years ago and noticed a trailer hub was pretty hot when I stopped for fuel about 50 miles down the road.  Called Bruce Elliott up and even though I had never been to his place I found out I was only a few miles away, so stopped in, got to visit awhile and pumped a little grease into the bearings....all was well the rest of the 300 miles home.

Rich, we need to do like Minn and NDak did and start a post of people in WI and where they are at.  Would help in situations like this.  If you would have had my phone #, you could have called me and I would have run out.  I think La Crosse would have been quicker and closer than the Dells, but not a lot.
