I have a D17 Series 4,that I found in the woods,been sitting for about 18 years..Getting ready to put loader on it .But the problem is.after i got it running,I raised the 3 point lift arms,and they wont go back down! IS there a valve stuck,or what.I did replace all hydraulic fluids.Dont have a book on this tractor.just dont know where to start.andy ideals guys.Thanks alot.

Linkage is most likely stuck on draft control from sitting. Remove all the small linkage from under tractor going to rear lift and free it all up. Likely has the draft stuck in raise position.

It is the traction booster linkage that is rusted in the activated position. Since the tractor has been sitting in the woods for 18 years, I would take the mechanical linkage apart and clean and lubricate all of the pivot points. The valve body itself should be fine.

Cylinders are rusted on inside. Take a hyd. hose off one cylinder and see if it will go down. If it was linkage, it would have went up as soon as it started.

Put alot of weight on it. May have to take cylinders apart and hone. MACK

got it.I bled the lines,and seems to work ok..kinda slow.but working with enough weight on them.thanks Guys..
