I bought a 180 diesel a couple months ago and I started it up the other day and it jumped forward about five feet before I got it shut down. What would have caused this? The tractor was in neutral

By in neutral do you mean just the Power Director was in neutral or was the 4 speed manual in neutral? I guess it could be stuck in gear with the lever out of the forks or if the transmission oil is real thick there could be enough drag to move the tractor a little but probably not make it "jump" forward.
