i was working on my d14 this fall and i was draining the coolant out of the radiator and at least a quart of oil drained out along with the anitifreeze. idk what the heck is wrong. it burns oil. cracked block? bad o-rings? but i have been planning on doing a overhaul on it for the last couple years. so im wondering what should i do. find a different block or just go ahead with the overhaul. i have it torn about and all the bearing look like they have a 59 on them so im sure the motor has never been touched internally. does anyone recommend any engine kits that are overbore?

Use a D15 series 1 kit from AGCO....same bore but more compression.

Oil in the antifreeze can be a sign of a bad head gasket.  That, or the frost plugs in the head are leaking.  Since you will be rebuilding the engine, there will be no problem fixing these problems at the same time.

in the post with pictures of Allis "stuff, not tractors" there is a barrel of water soluble cooling system conditioner. Suppose something like that had settled out over time?
