I've go a 7030 that is pumping fluid from the transmission to the rear-end. I'm a diesel mechanic and have 14 years experience in tractor /trailers but little or no eperience with farm tractors. Frankly, almost all of my tractor expreience has been on a john deere pulling tractor.

I'm assuming that there is a bad seal between the transmission and rear-end but it will fill the rear-end till it overflows which makes me think that its not a seal since the fluids should equalize between the two. Anyway, before I tear it apart I was hoping for a little input from someone who has had this experience. I do have an original 7030 Allis-Chalmer service manual but I'd like a little direction before I start working on it.

It is the seal in the gerotor pump if it does it only running. Most likely spun the bushing through the seal. Pull all 3 pumps out the bottom. Not a big job but oiley and costly.  Be a good time to replace the seal on pump drive shaft.  MACK
