When cold, my 190's hydraulics seem slow. My power-steering is choppy, my lift-ram is slow, and my power director doesn't work. When warmed up, everything seems great. In the manual, it says remove, clean, and replace suction filter located behind left-hand engine side frame. Where is this located? I assume it's not the spin-on filter.

It's between the left frame rail and the left side of the engine, large tube in the return line. The filter is inside the large section of the line.

Yours may not have the filter. Later tractors did not use them because the rubber caps on the ends would suck air so they done away with them.

Check all the connections on that suction tube. Could also be front seal in pump. They will get hard from heat and not seal causing punp to suck air. MACK

not sure where you are but if you have water in the fluid that could give you problems in the cold, does the fluid look brownish?

There is a strainer in the sump.
