Our 1958 D-14 has two threaded (approx 5/8" dia) holes, one on front side of axle and other on rear side of axle.  Are these holes for bolts for securing some tractor mounted equipment, or what? Herb

the rear ones are used to secure the rear brackets for a loader.
Have fun if you plan on using them, they will be full of dirt and gravel.

They were also for cultivator brackets, and for certain mower brackets.

Most I've seen were full of twisted off bolts!

Thanks for the inputs.  I was concerned about using for rear brackets of my loader; sounds as though they are strong enough.  Herb

Just be sure to 'chase' out the threads and get rid of ALL the 'stuff in there' BEFORE you put bolts  in  AND add a good amount of neversieze as well.
