I am looking for this particular model of old Coke bottle machine.  I just remember these things as a kid and would like to have one someday.  I would prefer working condition.  Anybody have one they want part with or know of one some place for sale?  The closer to Northeast Nebraksa the better.  Thanks.

Matt this one is not exact but is available. Is this the type of restoration done by Folkers' Restoration. I have been looking for parts for a 1947 coolerator fridge and a 60 ish chest type Coca Cola box.    mailto:sale-dcaby-2700598876@craigslist.org?subject=Antique%20Coke%20Machine%20-%20%24550%20%28Lexington%2CTn%29&body=AAhttp%3A%2F%2Fjacksontn.craigslist.org%2Fatq%2F2700598876.htmlA -

Matt, I wish I did know where one was. I would have it myself. I remember my grandad's good friend Mr. Emory Swindle had one in his shop. I used to con Paw-Paw into getting me something out of it when we would go over there to visit, or when he would have Mr. Emory do some work on his truck. Was just like that one, except his had a lot more grease and dirt on it. : )

I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me!

Wow that brings back memories.  My dad had one just like that in his Allis dealership.  Kept it stocked with 6 oz bottles.

My first job had one just like that. On the money meter where the nickel fell in, there was a microswitch. The maitenence guy rigged a little extension to rest against the back of the woodgrain outer panel. Push on the panel so it flexed and the meter would register a nickel. Push on the panel with your knee seven times and pull your bottle out.  Owner caught on to us when machine was empty and there was about $2 in the change can. He made us pay up as a group or the machine was gone.

My first job was as a junior counselor at  Camp Crossland, a boy scout camp in norhteastern Indiana.  The trading post had a slider machine.  We were somewhat honest scouts so there was only a limiated amount of thievery but I well remember how cold those cokes felt and how good the peanuts we put into the bottle tasted. And who's old?

I've seen a few of those in the past. I remember one place having the chest type that you slid your bottle around and pulled it up and out. Later on I remember a junkyard I used to go to that had one with beer in it...

The front bumper of my '69 Chevelle had a spot that would pop a cap with one swift hit. Lots of coke bottles found their end at that bumper, later on even more beers. You guys are making me wish for the old days when everyhting seemed fun, sweet, clean and simpler. Now I want a Coke machine, you guys are not a good influence! Well maybe you are.

You guys are making me remember getting an ice cold Squirt out of the slider at the grain elevator with my Dad. 10 oz. for a dime during harvest. Great memories

Arnie at the local gas station when I was a kid had one just like the last pic of Lonnies. I remember getting a coke and smoke would come out and it burrned my tongue when I was a kid. When I was a little older and started to chew he kept the copenhagen in that cooler. I remember when it went from 50 cents to 75 cents.

Shameless, my box is large and has lids that hinge open from either side of the box. It needs a lot of work but is similar to one we had in a country store operated by my family from the late 50s to early 80s. I loaded the drinks as a kid and they set in cold water. When we would pass the store coming from picking cotton or other farm tasks we would stop and get drinks that were so cold , ice formed in the neck when the tops were popped. The first drink of slushy cola was so good I can still taste them over 50 yrs later. My grandparents swapped the chest box for an upright like the one that started this post. The drinks were never as cold in the upright machine as they were in the chest box. My bos needs gaskets, handles, the 2 bottle cap catchers, and tlc.

Ahhh, peanuts in a bottle of Coke or Pepsi while shooting a game of pool!!!  The pool hall kept their Pepsi so cold, that it would freeze when you took the cap off.  Those were the days.

I never heard of using cups or straws to steal the pop-------guess I ran around with a different crowd.

I have a coke machine that looks just like that I would sell for $400.00. It worked when we used it several years ago in our shop.  I can deliver to Yankton SD if that helps as i am from SD north of Yankton. I can send photos if you would like.  Thanks Roger

Yup, remember when the wrestling team got caught.
Layed the machine down on it's back, opened the narrow door and popped all the tops with a bottle opener. Coaches talked for years how they rounded the corner to find all the boys crouched over the machine with soda straws sucking it dry.
Their workouts had a little work added after that as nobody back then would dare suspend a good athlete.

There used to be an identical machine in D & K Implement in Pomeroy, IA.  It used to be an Allis dealer called Garber-Birkey.  It was there until the early 1990's but don't know beyond that.

Here is one I bought a couple weeks ago. I've been looking for a small can machine, all the rest of mine use bottles. The guy said he hadn't used it for several years but thought something was wrong last time he did use it. I plugged it in and the fan motor for the condenser was stuck so I got a new one for $25 and everything seems to be working fine. Just need to pick up a new bulb for the Coca-Cola sign tomorrow.

We have one like you pictured Matt. Wish ours looked that good. It needs restored and bottom is pretty rusted on one side. It's been sitting out in shed for years. Don't know why? We should have kept it inside. I can remember filling it every week at dads shop when I was young :)  Think I'll have to add that to rstore list.

Used to go to the Sohio station and Coke for a nickel and the guy that got the bottle from the farthest away collected a nickel from everybody. Man a long time ago, I think all the guys that work their are gone but one.
