I was at a buddys that collects JD and he showed me his large collection of JD toy tractors, they all had a little medal hanging from them and seemed to be of good quality models. Now I need a AC collection! Is there a better brand for quality? Any good places to buy? Lets see some pictures of your collections!!!! Thanks Andrew PS my buddy has all these JD toy tractors, but stoped collecting JD and sold his JD tractors. Right now, Ertl can't get a license from agco. Ertl makes only JD CaseIH and newholland toys. Speccast makes a lot of mid size D series and a few models of 6060,6070 etc. Soon specast will have a new D15 with Allis loader out. It looks pretty good. I plan on getting one.Ebay is the best place to find the older discontinued AC toys. Right now Allis toys are selling rather well.

depending on what you are looking for ertl by far has the most selection of allis models to choose from. the tractors your buddy has with the little medalion are ertl presision classic series which are high detail and expensive models to buy. (that series is no longer made) another good detailed brand is specast high detail alittle cheaper to buy. hope this helps you out collecting toys is almost as fun as collecting the real thing and a lot cheaper to do.
look for a magazine called the toy farmer!!!! very helpfull alot of toy tractor dealers in it like outback toys, bossem toys ect.

Franklin Mint made some OUTSTANDING tractor models that were hand built. I purchased a WC, F-20, H, A Farmall, Red Belly Ford, and a 60 All Crop from them. Beautiful jobs but I do not think they do it any more.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think all the Franklin Mint tractors are 1/25th scale. I don't know why they picked that scale but it doesn't match any of the other scales available.

I agree Charlie. I assume they were wanting collectors to pair their other models together, ie WC and Allcrop. That's the only 2 AC I know of, that they made ? |

It seems like most ACs on Ebay sell high, i'm not saying you can't find a bargain, I've had the most luck going to farm toy shows in my area. AC's aren't plentiful but are around. Like was mentioned about Toy Farmer magazine is a place to start. They have a nice classified section, plus a listing of shows that are coming up. Also the National Farm Toy Show is a great place to find them.
