It would be interesting to hear what the prices were of some of the old iron when it was brand new if you all have any records from the old days? Not just tractors but combines, farm implements etc.. All colors are welcome.

Tractordata.com gives pretty good details as far as the specs and original prices. Not sure the accuracy as I wasn't around then but I'm sure some of the former sales people can verify that.

Somewhere Dad has an old 185 brochure from when he was dealing on a new 185. On that brochure, after some dickering, the dealer wrote a price and short description of a new 185 with Year Around cab and heater and a price of either $10,500 or $12,500 (can't remember, thinking $12,500). No trade in and it was about 1976 or 77 cause Dad ended up buying a used 190XT instead in 1977. At the time he really liked that 190 but in hind sight it was a mistake IMO cause it was a gasser and still cost $6,000 but Dad was leery of diesel still at that time. The old 190 did a faithful tour of service for 20 years though.

I have the orginal invoice for my dad's purchase of  a 1955 WD 45 Diesel, with belt pulley, hydralic cyinder, 13x28 tires, transport valve, and a 12 ft. snap coupler transport disc for $3300.00    I also still own all of the above listed, I restored 45 diesel 2 yrs. ago and doing all of the work myself ( with help from son) and have over $10,000 invested into it. Now, tell me, how smart can that be???

There is nothing like being able to see those old handwritten statements or invoices.  Thanks for sharing a part of your farm family's past with the rest of us.  I sure would be interested in seeing anything [tractor or combines] from the 1960s & 70s era.  Like the following if anyone can share;

1967 AC One-Seventy with AC 500 loader.
1966 AC gleaner model E combine with heads.
1968 AC gleaner model EIII combine with heads.
1972 AC 190 series III diesel tractor with plow.
1978 AC gleaner model K2 gas or diesel combine with heads.

1945 model C $736.25
Power takeoff & pulley + $38.50  (must have been an option)
Total $774.75
