Does a letter D in the S.N. of a 45 indicate it was a diesel ? thanks

if it on the lt.brake housing sfter the s/n,yes

Yes, I believe so.
The D should be at the end of the number.

if it is after the serial # then yes it was a diesel

Thats is what tells it is a diesel.
