Guys,

My rear rim finally rusted through.  It's the power adjust rim.  I'm looking for one to replace it.  If you have one you'll sell, drop me a message with the price.  Used is fine!  Just needs to be in good shape.  Also, if you know a good place to buy them from, I'd appreciate that info as well.  Thanks!

Carson

Yeah, I'm going to do check with the vendors, I just thought I'd try to find a local individual instead.

Can you weld? It's not a all that hard to repair one if you can weld. I used a metal cutoff wheel in my Skil Saw to cut the rusted area out and replaced it with a section cut from another wheel. Mine turned out good enough if you don't know they were repaired, you'd never know it. The only giveaway is there isn't a hump next to the valve stem hole.

Ray: How much would one be?  (I think you're the guy we bought a front spindle from recently).  Spindle seems to be fine now!

Brian: Thanks for the idea.  Dad's a good welder, so maybe we can give that a try.  We're going to be throwing it away if it doesn't work anyhow, so it's worth trying.  If we decide to do it, I might PM you.

No problem. It was as simple as slicing a big enough repair section from another wheel and tracing around it then slicing the bad section out and welding the new section in. That was a bunch cheaper than new wheels...

If you do decide to purchase new, I can recommend Tony Carbaugh who is a vendor on this site.  I purchased two new 12x24 rims from him a couple of years ago.  Good price and great service.
