We have a D17 IV diesel motor that is surging badly. It does it at idle speed and even at higher rpms. We checked the fuel bowl and lines but think it is something more serious. Any ideas on where to start?? Thanks in advance, Ryan

Is the alternator belt tight??? My Perkins will surge and sound as if it is fuel starved when alternator belt gets loose.
