Hi guys-Can you please help me on these topics ?
- Is this what the aftermarket rims are suppose to be like (have clip instead of a lug stamped into the rim)? If not, it sure appears this rim is more like what a Ford 8N has.
- What brackets are on this WC? Cornpicker?
- What is this box for? Is it some type of overdrive (I was 6 when this tractor was parked so I don't remember what it did)? Tractor's engine is stuck right now so I can't check that way either.

Thanks
Terry

You are right, that rim is wrong, don't know about the bracket but the box is a rearend disconnect. If you move the lever it will disengage the tranny from the rearend, if you remove that you can bolt on a cultivator lift.

Just the top plate, then in gear you can use the mechanical lift. But that looks like someone may have put a hydraulic pump in there, which would work the same way. Otherwise the tractor must be moving in gear to use it.

the correct term for the housing bolted to the rearend is --- "traction release coupling" it disengauges the drive shaft from trans to rear end, one of the big complaints was when cultivating and you got to the end of the field and misjudged raising the cultivator you could end up against the fence with it still in the ground. If that happened you could dissengauge drive to rear axle and raise cult. also works for rotobaler to rap bale.

Since you've got the v belt pulley, I'd guess those brackets are for a corn picker. AaronSEIA

Those are corn picker brackets & the v belt pulley for driving the blowers on the picker.
