I just replaced the bearings and bearing races in right side drive housing. Everything went in OK, got the seal seated, and the inner bearing on. Now, how much do you tighten the inner axel retaining bolt? The end play was out of it way before the bolt was even kind of tight. I snugged it down every thing still rotated fine. Just wondering how tight should I make it? I ordered a couple of 0.002" shims with the bearing kit. Should I use those?

jeff..according to my wd-45 ohm,you tighten down to a free rolling,no binding fit.i had one apart awhile back and it worked for me.just be certain you have no axial movement on the hub.sounds like you are doing fine....

Tighten the bolt down tight with the shims under the washer. If there is inplay remove shims until all end play is gone. MACK
