Hi,I drug an old D17 series 4 out of the woods this summer.that has been sitting for over 15 years.I got the little tractor running pretty good,without alot of work..but I think it has a combine motor in it..it is grey..not for sure..anyway..I want to put a loader on it,but not a new one..too much money for what I need.ha..I have found old ones that was on d17`s,but trip bucket..I want something with two way hydraulics..Looking at an old John deere model 34.but pics look like it is one way hydraulics..Does anyone know what loader will fit the D17..?? thanks guys..

You can make anything fit you want....just takes some modifying is all

If it really is a Ser. IV  then you should already have the Live Hydraulic pump on the side and the 2 correct valves for double acting cylinders.
 
The Allis Model 517 Loader would be the correct loader.

I Got a great bend loader off a 170 that fit perfect. Mounts were all the same.

If the motor is grey, it probably IS a 'Gleaner E'.  About as close to a D17 Series IV engine, without being a D17 Series IV engine.  Someone might pipe-up and tell the details. 

Yes, you want a full-hydraulic loader.  I'll second Benny's comment, with the note- If you're not a fabricatin' type (with torch, saw, welder, and the ability to do it), it'd be best to find someone who is, as it opens up LOTS of options, and helps keep the cost down.

Have a couple loaders that are all hydraulic and could be readily adapted as long as your tractor has dual outlets 563 652-2949

Ok thanks guys..Allis Model 517 Loader looks like what I need..Yes my d17 is a series 4.and does have the pump, on right side where my others have belt pulley...It will make a great tractor for a loader,im sure..yes I have welder and torch,just havent welded that much in the last 5 years..something I need to keep up with to be good at..ha...Thanks again..
