Does anyone know if the steel wheel C's were geared slower then the ones that come from factory with rubber tires? Thanks. Gary

The pinion shafts in the final drives had 19 teeth prior to tractor C109, 15 teeth from C109 thru C15714 and only with air tires up to C23080, 12 teeth on C15714 thru C23080 with steel wheels and all from C57368 and up. So depending on the year , yes, no and maybe? The 12 teeth would be the lowest geared and prior to C109 would be the highest. It doesn't mention tractor C23081 thru C57367? This is all from the parts book by the way. The bull gears also had a different # of teeth for each pinion.

There must be a drastic difference in ground speed between a 12 tooth and 19 tooth pinion. I believe they all had the same transmission so the  different finals would mean drastically different ground speed ?????

I did the math and since they also changed the bull gear with the pinion the final drive ratios are 4.95, 5.47 and 5.75 so the end result isn't as drastic as it sounds. The model B has a ratio of 4.79 so it's slightly faster than any of the C's. The rearend and tranny gears are all the same on B's and C's.
