The metal top you have to unbolt and slide back on my 8070 to get to the AC,radio, etc. is heavy and bulky for one man to take off alone.Mine is also bent a little from getting blown off when it was laying on top when we were working on the AC.Was thinking about having an aluminum one cut to size for it would be easier to handle.I could insulate it but was wondering if it wouldn't be as good as holding in the cold air as the steel.Has anyone done or thought about this?

Prolly wouldn't hold up to vibration.

We just had both of them off the 8050's. They are deffinitly a two man job. I'll have to get the name of the company Dad got the new fan assembly from, a bit pricy but it's a bolt in complete assembly. Very quiet.

Uncle always said "Fill the back of the shovel and the front will take care of itself".
