I found a Gleaner F2 combine, with a 12' grain head, plus two corn heads, one conventional and the other narrow row. I still have to look at it in person, but the seller used it last season, and everything works well. From the pictures, it appears in excellent shape, with a 292 GM gas engine. He has it stored in his shed, but bought a larger combine, and needs to make room. He is asking $2,000 for it. I will be using on about 50 acres of corn, oats, wheat.
Does that sound like a good price, assuming it is in the condition stated, and is there anything in particular to watch out for on these combines?
If I decide to go with it, transportation would be the remaining issue. It is about 90 miles away, and I will need to price out how much to haul it, as that might be a deal-breaker.

If it is in good condition that would be a really good deal. I bought an F 5 years ago and paid that for it with out heads. I have the GM 292 and have absolutly no regrets. I run about 30 acres of high moistue corn a year. Gleaners are getting scarce in my area, but still have a very good reputation. I don't have any idea of your location, but I drove mine about 35 miles to bring it home. hope this helps.

I would also say good deal. We paid nearly that for our F2 gas parts combine and a corn head. In the field we run an F2 diesel hydro which is a real gem. Paid about $5000 for that one with a 4-30 CH and 315 flex. F2's are reliable and easy to work on, gas or diesel. We run approx 150 acres through ours a year very little trouble or downtime.
