I posted a few days ago on AGCO's wall about the red decal on the gleaner. Here is the response of both AGCO and it's fans:

You didn't really change the decal on Gleaner combines to red did you?

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000164497601 - Cody Hager  Yeah right. Even though gleaners did have red on them at one time, we all know this new red decal is to promote Massey Ferguson. It won't be long and the slogan will read, "GLEANER by Massey Ferguson".

http://www.facebook.com/Michigan.Country.Kid - Lucas Haskins  yeah, whatever you do, don't change it to "gleaner by massey ferguson", that would be a real slap to the face to the allis community. I do believe gleaner was red at one time wernt they?

Yeah gleaner had red from 1923 to 1955. Then A-C bought them in 55 and its been orange ever since. I think orange is the heritage of gleaner being its been on them for over 50 years. But as we all know AGCO has since lost all of its oran...

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=515190979 - Michael T Meschke  I could care less on the color, its still a hell of a combine. If it bothers you that much, paint over it and paint the rims orange. I suppose your mad they paint them grey, rather than have the speckeled galvanized steel

http://www.facebook.com/Michigan.Country.Kid - Lucas Haskins  no, the rims I really don't care about, the last few Allis Chalmers Gleaners had silver rims. It's the fact that they are doing all they can to promote Massey Ferguson, and the Red decal on a combine that was once produced by an Orange company just seems like they are trying to destroy all evidence of their connection to Allis Chalmers. After all, AGCO stads for ALLIS Gleaner corporation.

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000164497601 - Cody Hager  No doubt it is still a hell of a combine, I am all for the Super series, but they need to remember where their roots come from, if not for A-C, AGCO would not exhist, and Massey probably would have fallen flat on its face.

Kevin Bien says "We promote Gleaner is its own brand and the decal badge with the old Gleaner scripting over the front of the cab roof brings back the heritage of the Gleaner Baldwin machines. We have no intention on putting Massey Ferguson on the Gleaner product. If you remember from machines up to 2011, the AGCO was very small on the product and the most important name on the combine was Gleaner in large type. We went away from the AGCO with the orange altogether on the product so the only name that appears is Gleaner. Gleaner is a very powerful sub brand of AGCO and will remain that way. Even in the old Allis Chalmers days, Allis Chalmers was always very small on the product decal because it has always been about the Gleaner brand, not the parent."

So apparently, it will not be Gleaner by Massey?

I am not happy about the red decals on the Gleaner super series, but I am confident that Kevin and many others working with the Gleaner brand will fight tooth and nail to keep it as the Gleaner brand.
The entire "Hesston by Massey" thing boils my blood. Hesston has been a highly respected name in forage and hay for many years. They got that reputation because they earned it. Now, Massey swoops in and wants to steal their thunder without contributing anything. MF hasn't built or designed hay equipment or planters for many years. Somehow they think that we are going to believe the decals that are placed on the machines. What kind of fools do they think their potential customers are? I find it insulting that they think we are that naive.

What I find interesting is how even we talk not about AGCO but instead Massey. The Massey Ferguson Company died in what? 1992 or so? A defunct company bought up by Allis Gleaner Company. Was talking with my cousin who owns an RT150 and an LT70 and he commented on how disinterested he is in red Massey tractors and how he might finish out his next 20 years with old Allises (what's plural for Allis?) and old AGCOs. I suspect he'll  switch to CaseIH cause he owns a 1666, a 1066 and a 284 and his grandpa was all IH and a dealer is less than 10 miles from him vs almost 40 miles for the closest AGCO dealer. He started with a WD and 190XT in the late 70's and moved to a 7040 and 7580 in the 80's up to a 9655? and 8050 in the 90's and now has the two AGCOs and a 7045 and 8010. Besides the 8200 12 row White planter, Hesston haybine that was new last year and a multitude of other AGCO products. Another AGCO customer going going and maybe gone. Yep getting rid of orange makes perfect sense ............. to a chimp.
