Hello everyone. I am putting new rims and tires on my D14 and had a few questions about removing the rim locks. I have tried to get them loose with an impact and didn't have any luck. I was told that if I can get them off, give them a good soaking in some penetrating oil and get them in the vise,  remove the snap ring, and then I could probably drive the pins out.  At first glance, I thought I could just remove the bolts holding the locks to the wheel center and then drive the wheel center out. Upon further inspection, my wheel centers have a groove or vee around the outside that the wheel locks "lock" into. I tried a little persuasion with a block of wood and a hammer and couldn't budge the wheel center. I don't want to hammer any harder and bend the wheel.  Whats everyone's opinions or suggestions??
Thanks!
Ben

Use a bigger hammer

Soak them in 50/50 acetone/atf for several days, meaning spray them with the mixture in the morning and at night and try to get them loose every time you spray them. Patience is the key. You can also use Kroil if you want.

The groove does not hold like you would think. Being you have the 8 eccentric bolts out of the center, just pound on the center dish and it will fall out. Lay the wheel down and pound down with big hammer.

Yep to what steve says. Remove the 8 bolts holding the eccentric bolt assys to the center, lay the tire down, outside up, place a short 4X4 on the center and pound on the 4X4 with a sledge hammer. The center, and eccentric centers will come loose and fall into the rim.
