Hey guys i have a 10 ft disc that i would like to repaint, Can anyone tell me what is the correct color that was used on these disc when they were made? Cant find much info on them. Almost looks like AC Orange !

IIRC Dunham Lehr was closer to the Case Flambeau Red than AC Persian Orange.

John C-Il I also have a Dunham disk to restore and paint. I'm 70 years old and pulled an 8' behind my dad's 37 WC. It seems to me that the frame was an off color orange like Falmbeau Red, maybe even lighter, and the bearing mounts and scrapers were an off color green kinda like the old David Bradley green. Does that ring any bells or am I hallucinating again? ------------- You don't really have to be smart if you know who is! |

| Boy i dont know i see no hint of any green on what i have, bu that doesnt mean it wasnt that way. Cant seem to find much anywhere about the disc i have. Or the company itself for that matter. |

John C-Il, I think I'll do the bearing mounts and spools that David Bradley green color along with the scrapers. Everything else including the scraper brackets will be Flambeau Red. This is sorta what I remember, but shoot, I last pulled that particular disc in the mid 50's and I've slept a couple of times since then. I got fired the first time I disked. Did all right in the morning, but in the afternoon I got off the picker rows by one row and did maybe 15-20 acres in the afternoon. Needless to say my uncle who raised me used choice words and several times called me by his favorite name for me, Knucklehead!. The next year and subsequent times you can bet I stayed on the right row. He had to go over everything that I did so the stalks would go through a Little Genius No. 8 Farmall plow.That is 62 years ago and I still haven't forgotten it! Novacane, it'll be a while, I can't take this heat and humidity. My disk is either an 8 or 9 foot drag disk that was probably made in the late thirties or forties. It is identical to the one I used as a kid. My plans are to build a frame with rubber wheels to carry it behind my dad's 37 WC so I can parade it. Dad died when I was 9 months old in 1941 and mom kept his machinery. She later moved just down the road to her sister's place and that's where I was raised. The WC is what I learned to drive on and then graduated at about 12-13 to a 1951 International pick-up. I used to take my sister and mom to the girls 4-H meetings with that truck by driving all gravel roads to the schoolhouse. That was one of the reasons for joining girls 4-H, along with the fact they served refreshments which the boys didn't, and there were girls there too. I talked some of my buddies into it also so I wouldnt feel so out of place. One year I tied with my cake to go to the state fair and those sexist women chose the girl.
