Out mowing w/ d15 ser II-power steering suddenly quits- very stiff thru the middle, seems ok once turned rt or left. Plenty of fluid, but cap is missing and green scrubby stuffed in place. Any ideas- don't want to tear anything apart un-necessarily-really like using this tractor! Thanks to all, Paul

So a good (and cheap) place to start is to lube up the splined coupler underneath the generator AND the bushing block bolted inside the left side rail....make sure these are oily so there is no binding. Also consider oiling the steering wheel column (easier said than done).
