Just wondering, is there a way to renew the friction surface on wet clutch discs? It seems like you should be able to find someone who would take your worn out disc, clean it down to bare steel, and put on a new friction surface.

Thanks for the info! I still need to get a machinist's straight edge to check for warpage, as only the outer surface of the disc really wore, making me think it kind of beveled, but if it's straight, I'll definitely consider resurfacing if it's not cost prohibitive

They do our clutches and the even do tractor brakes. If you got a clutch or brake that needs new frictions they can do it. Wouldnt go anywhere else. Especially since their only an hour away lol

Ive never done a clutch myself but i watched fort wayne clutch do mine and they made it look easy. Ive bought brake pads for my 19 and 17 and did those myself. That was fairly easy.

If we're talking about clutch discs from clutch packs in the trans, I would think it would be easier to replace them than to reline. If it's like an auto trans, when the discs start slipping, they tear up the steel separators. If it's not much work to get at them, I can see trying, but if it's major tear down, I wouldn't take the chance. Just my $02 worth...

I just split my 200 apart this afterrnoon. Power director quit shifting into high the clutch pack was completly destroyed. Ill be goin to fort wayne clutch in the morning ill find out what theyll do with it and let you know if they resurface the frictions or if they just replace them. Also if yours wore at a bevel check you steel seperators mine are warped. Guess power directors dont like fast hard pulls as much as i do.

Check your pistons for "flat" too. We're talking two different things here but the aluminun piston in the high side PD clutch on my 8070 was concave a little.
