OK, Here goes. As this problem does not involve AC Equiptment, i understand I may in the wrong Dept with this one. One might say this is a "test" so to speak. It clearly has nothing to do with "Shops/Barns/Varmits+trucks" therefore I chose to post here. My hope here is that only willing/helpful respondies post there thoughts, but i understand I'm up for ridicule again as this is a open forum.

I have a client who has a bird house hung from a tree branch off small chain. it is droping about 6 ft off a limb and is aprx. 6 ft off the ground. the problem is the "house" will not stay in line with her perfered line to view, in other words it is fixing itself on one position [ facing away from her perfered line]. I studied this tonight and tried adding weight o one side/end and other methods to "adjust" the orientation, with no help. The only thing i finally came up with was possibly the way in which the chain was "looped" around the branch vs hanging off a eyelet.

The house must be hanging Plumb, what is causing this fixed position, I will be a someone's good graces if i can solve this problem. Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

Two strings or chains,  spread wider at the top. If limb runs in direction other than projected  line of sight, a wire bracket may be needed.Actually a wire from limb hinged at correct location could do the job also. HTH Tracy Martin

Thanks Tracy, I wondered about that. the house wants to hang in direction the limb is going, why does the limb direction dictate the direction of hang? Could a eyebolt screwed into limb give the single chain enough pivot to fix our desired orientation?

Turn one end of the chain 180 degrees or do like Tracy says and hang it from two points

Hanging it from two points will eliminate any wind changing the wanted line of sight.A wire rod with loop on each end fastened between two hige points will stop the clocking motion also. HTH Tracy Martin
