Have owned this tractor for 4 years and have a leak which seems to be getting worse. There is transmission/rear end gear oil leaking in the area of the snap coupler bell and dripping off the area where the bell if pinned to the tractor. Haven't been able to determine exactly where it's coming from. Appreciate any input for a remedy and obviously trying to avoid the splitting process. Other than the mess--may just keep adding the gear oil for a while. Thanks for any suggestions. Dennis J

take a close look at the PTO drop gear box. common area to leak easy to fix. just drai and remove from tractor to work on.

Thanks Dave, I don't have the tractor with me but will take a closer look at it next week. I'm thinking it may not be the PTO, I've had it off about 3 years ago and regasketed it and the drip is not off the PTO unless it's finding a way to flow further back to the whole drawbar mounting brackets. Not sure if the bracket bolts for the drawbar or the bolts coupling the torque housing to the transmission differential housing actually penetrate into the castings allowing gear oil to seep around the bolts or if the gasket is just bad which would require a split. Thought about putting in some dye (if available) to try and get a bettter origin of the leak. Again, thanks for the ideas. Dennis J

The six split bolts are probably loose that connects the rearend to the torque housing.....takes a 3/4 wrench.
