Planted finally 2 weeks ago finally. My wife took a Blackberry vid (not real good but how many vids on youtube of an old Allis planter?). Anyway had a few issues I need to work out with the planter.
1st, those old style seed boxes aren't really made for small jobs. Will need to make internal funnels to keep seed going to the plate.
2nd, smooth steel wheels in soft dirt with almost empty hoppers makes for slippage which might explain somewhat low seed population in certain areas.
Flexible muffle pipe did work well for fertilizer drops. Planted about 2 acres. 1 3/4 of sweet corn and the rest Indian corn.

Yes, there are some spots I primed because paint was flaking off pretty bad. That is the real nice original I've spoke about in other threads. So far I haven't seen another CA, (no matter how detailed a restoration) that compares when you look at the detail areas. Like front grill, pan, fenders, steering wheel, hood, ect. Its all as perfect as when it was delivered. In fact that CA never had the hood off, plugs out or basically any maintenance of any kind before I got it. Not for neglect, but because it wasn't used.
