To lower the hydraulics on my D15II, the control handle goes below the quadrant. Is there any way to adjust/fix this so that the lever only moves within the quadrant?
Any help would be appreciated. Started the teardown for restoration last night.

If you still have the side panels and readable decals on them look under the fuel tank on the left side. There is a hole with a decal that says "lowering adjustment faster" or similar (been 35 years LOL). Takes a large screwdriver. The lever has to be one way or the other to see the screw head. You need to turn it towards faster.

That was the way the lever was designed to work. Adjustment of that "lowering speed" screw controlled how quickly the plow or disc returned to the work position when the TractionBooster system released itself. It seems wrong, but the lever (when plowing) will work itself back up to the "level" position when Traction Booster is working properly, so to actually be able to drop something quickly, the lever has to go below the window. The oldest D17's and D14's weren't like that and as a result the TractionBooster system didn't work as well in some conditions.

Dr, You are of course correct in how it works. With a load on the lift arms they should lower slowly when the lever is in the lower notch and drop like a rock when pulled all the way down but the lever should remain behind the quadrent when set correctly and not drop below it. Of course 40 some odd years or wear in the linkage might change that a bit, LOL.

On the D15 II I had the lever went below the quandrant as mentioned, worked as it should.
