Hello'

Had to replace a power steering hose and now hyd system seems to be air locked.

Is this possible and what best way to bleed it.

What does it do to make you think it is air locked? MACK

Just loosesn the line that goes from the hydraulic pump up to the cooler a couple turns with the tractor idling, and you should start to see air come out of the threads. Then go in the cab and keep working the steering wheel back and forth. When the pump gets primed, you will know it, because the steering will go back to normal and the transmission pressure light should go off. Go back out and tighten the hose back up. If you only loosen it a few turns, it shouldn't make much of a mess, just dripping when the pump is primed and making pressure.

Mack None of hyd system is working. Everything was working fine, then blew a power steering hose and replaced it now nothing--no steering,just move a little then stop,no 3pt,slow pto. just assuming air locked. Appreciate any info

Thanks for the info. We have tied that,maybe not long enough 15to 20min.

Make sure it is full of oil behind batteries. With tractor running and some one in cab with clutch down put some air pressure in filler hole. This should get oil to pump.

Be carefull doing this. I was ran over by a 7000 doing this. When it gets oil and you hear the power director clutch engauge it is already too late. MACK

It usually only takes mine about 2 minutes at most to prime doing the method I described. Check to make sure that the suction line doesn't have an air leak somewhere. I would try MACK's method, just be careful like he said.
