Just bought a 52  wd. though the guy swears it is a wd 45. Havent researched it enough to find out for sure. Just curious what weight oil yall run in your tractors. I was thinkin bout rotella 15w-40. she doesnt smaoke one bit. its what i run in my 8n but that cause she burns alot and was trying to cut it back.  also was curious if the trans/hydralic/rearend uses all thesame oil like an 8n or are they seperate compartments. I havent made it up to TSC yet to get a manual. another Question is how do you operate the the single hydro outlet. Im guessing theres a valve that allows you to use the lever on the steering wheel that operates the lift.I grew up and have always been around deere but when i was little we had one wd 45 wide front. Kinda got a special place for them ole allis' ever since then. Any info you guys could offer would be great thanks
Matt

If it's a WD it will have a inspection plate on right side of the engine block behind the distributor. Wd45s have a solid cast block no inspection plates anywhere. In my 49' farm stock puller I run 15w40 just because of the high torque the engine has, as far as the hydrallics I run a 85 90 weight oil. Don't have a hydro outlet anymore so can't help there.

You can run normal motor oil in the engine. I use 10-30 but 15-40 is ok . the hyds call for 20W non detergant oil you can run unervsial hyd trans ( HYTrans)fluid in it. run the same in you hyd clutch. and either 80w90  or HYTrans in the trans. the rear hyd outlet works with your hyd lever on the steering wheel. when the lift arms get to the top  then what erer you have attached will lift. ifr you don't push the arms down they will stay up and you'll have pressure right away.

Welcome to the best Allis forum out there! When you get a chance, put up some pics of your WD. I've got my grandfather's 52 WD.
