Can anyone help cross reference a oil seal for me?? I'm trying to save afew bucks by NOT going to Agco for it. The Agco part is #70229966. The old seal has 262FM124 C/R on it. Is the C/R stand for Chicago Rawhide? I've been searching and cant find this number. Thanks in advance, Ryan

do you happen to have dimensions too?  Was it a leather seal? Do you have earlier/later part numbers for it?  What's the application?
I've never seen 2 manufacturers' numbers on the same seal before but you could almost interpret the markings as CR# 262   and FM #124 or vice versa.  (CR is Chicago Rawhide and FM would be Federal Mogul.)

If I get a chance I'll check the catalogs at work.

Take the old seal to your local bearing supply house. They will find a replacement for you. If I had the shaft size and the bore it fits in, I could look it up in the books at the shop too.

Here is a cross refferance page from Chicago Rawhide (SKF). Just enter the AGCO number and it will give you the C/R replacement.

Thanks for the help guys!!! I'll price it at Agco and then check the others and post the prices. Sometimes Agco shocks the heck out of you and sometimes you are surprised how reasonable they are.

Check section R of the Baum Hydraulics Catalog. No cross reference but a great list of seals towards the end of that section on page R29. Looks like by dimension and description a CR 17443 for $7.31 or a 17449 for $22.94. Date 2000 on top the page is their code for discount 20%. Once you've downloaded the catalog section you don't have to be on line to search by dimension or number.

Agco wanted $15.00 for it and it would take several days to get it. Local parts store had a National seal for $7.50 and had it on hand. I bought a twelve pack with the difference and its all good now!! Ryan
