Greetings,
Newbie here. I am getting ready to become the owner of a 38 B. I have been looking around the internet for some time for a farmall style seat for the B. I seen one that had the pan seat with the long spring and shock mount. Was this something that was homemade or did the B come with them or will a seat mount from another tractor be used?

I see there is a couple style decals offered for the model B. Mine is a 1938 so which is the correct decals for this one? Black letters or blue letters? Long a or not?

I will post pictures and specs on the B when she is sitting in my garage, as i am sure i will be asking more questions.

Mine has black short letters and the seat has been re-done, as has the whole tractor.
This is one of 2 that I own. The other was has been in my family since new, with original paint and the letters are also black, but it has the flat wheel centers hand brakes, and no electrics... I believe they also came with a Monroe Pan Seat, but not sure if it was original or aftermarket. Someone much smarter than me can answer that one!
Welcome to the greatest tractor forum on the web!

I believe the CA had the pan style and easily confused for a B. Particularly when it has the wide front.

Blue letters, long A & S.  Pan seat was an option...but I don't know how early it was available...Bill Long will know for sure.

Monroe I believe was an after market seat. They made seats to fit many different make and models of tractors. My dad put one on a Farm All F-20.

Welcome boilerrepairman.  Monroe made at least two different styles of seats for the B/C tractors.  I have parts diagrams and photos on my website (link below).

Edit: For some reason, the URL had a space in it.  Thanks.
