Suggestions on how to time if timing marks are worn off of the fly wheel of 1939 B.

     Thanks, Mark

Do it like the old timers do it ---by ear.

I need to get tractor/governor set so when I put the rebuilt FMJ mag on I have a match for the firing order with the mag. Not sure how to do it without the marks on the fly wheel to go by Thank

Take the spark plugs out. Put your thumb over spark plug hole number one(closest to the radiator). Have someone hand crank the engine until you feel pressure on your thumb. That is when #1cyclindar is TDC and ready to fire. Align mag rotor to #1 wire (top left) Install mag and wires and plugs. It should run. Fine tune by ear.

The marks are there, they're just not stamped in very deep. Rust can hide them. Do like Ted says.
