i just got my 57 d17 home the guy that was working on it said the crank is broke he had the head and oil pan off and let it sit outside all winter. now the sleeves are all rusted up and while its tore down this far figured i might just as well do a complete rebuild and be done with it or if i could find a good runnig complete motor id be willing to trade a non turbo 301 out of a combine. thanks allis6080

That's not an insurmountable goal. I have reason to be running up through Lonn's area this spring, and expect to be dispatched out toward Allentown in a month or two, so entirely possible. Get the old motor out'n stuff, and have it ready to accept the new one... Lonn's got my phone number...

How about using the 301 in the D17? I did one and I think it is going to be a nice unit.
