Picked up a 7000 Special and a 7010. Hope to make one from the two. Not much history on either. 7010 has a rod thru the block. Which one should it be? Dale

The 7010 has an updated rearend and trans. If the 7000 has a good motor id just swap the motor and have a good 7010.

7000 special has heavy front axle like a 7010 and up. I think they were all black chassis tractors.

The 7000 Special came out AFTER the release of the 7010/7020. AC was getting all the remaining 7000 parts used up. The Special part was there were no options, it came with cab, A/C, heavy front end, and big tires, you could not substiute or deduct any options, there also was a small price break to get them sold. I did sell a couple of them, and they worked out OK. HTH
