looking for some tips to remove front axle spindle arms on a 7060.
i am guessing would it be better to leave the spindle support arm in the tube ? and i know the arm needs to come up cuz the axle has a woodruff key in it.

Remove wheel. remove snap ring. Get a 5 gallon bucket of cold water. Heat the arm with a rose bud to red hot and douse with the 5 gallons of water. Tap off or pull off arm. When you put it back together heat the arm red hot again and, using a pliers or whatever, set the arm back on the shaft (tapping it down with a hammer to it's proper location) and let it cool on it's own so it shrinks tight otherwise it will come lose later and ruin the shaft and arm.

do it that way, i just did it about a month ago, worked great. I'd recommend having two torches with the rose bud, goes a alot quicker and easier. Also, pull the wheel off,put chunks of wood under the frame rail on top of the axel to stop the play, and put a jack underneath the spindle to keep pressure on it. get the arm red hot, dump the 5 gallon pail of water on it, then use a 3lbs or 5lbs hammer and hit it off from the bottom side. Then to put it back on i got it red hot again, and used a pipe with a diameter just bigger then the hole on the arm so it didnt smash it smaller, tapped it on with a hammer. let it cool. Works really good!
