Hi,
Wondered if anyone could help I have just brought a  grader its either a D or DD
it is yellow at present but closer inspection shows it was originally allis chalmers red.
The engine which has spat a rod out of the block and  is not original  it is a L4 perkins Diesel
with a modified sump , flywheel and fuel tank to make it fit.
the serial No is 00982 or 10982 difficult to see. are there any other ways of checkin the model?
It has a tubular frnt end with a hydraulic ram on the front axle?
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

The D would have been gas and the DD would have been diesel but the serial # doesn't make sense. D's were from 1 thru 6300 + or - and DD's were 1000 thru 3000 + or -.

Hi Lou

I am also in West Aussie.  It would help if you posted a photo of your machine.

Thanks for your reply MN & Dereck,
The reason I am having trouble is that Because the Donk is not original and the serial#
plate is slightly damaged, so it could have been gas or diesel and had a early mod to fit the L4 which looks about the time it was re-sprayed yellow.
The serial # looks like 00982 but the first digit has a vertical dent through the middle.
I will try to get a few pics online later.
