          | Illinois is a fairly big piece of real estate-----what part do you want to know about?  I am about 150 miles south of Springfield  (origionally from the Jacksonville area.)  AS a m atter of fact there are several on here who live in Illinois.  Let us  know where you are. |

          | Superman, got a big statue right in front of the courthouse, and Fort Massac State park I think is the largest state park within the city limits in the state, or at least was at one time. The statue seems to always have someone in front of it taking a picture, its amazing to us how many people it attracts. The thing that brings the most people in though is Harrah's Riverboat Casino. http://cityofmetropolis.com/index.asp - http://cityofmetropolis.com/index.asp

          | I'm "FROM" Illinois. Moved to Texas in "68". Born in Blue Island. Went to grade school in Chicago and Orland Township. Graduated from Carl Sandburg Highschool in "58". Grew up on Chicago's Last Farm on 111th and Crawford ave. Moved to Orland Park in the 8th grade. Built a new house in South Holland in sombodys onion patch after I got hitched. Drove Allis Tractors and Studebaker cars and pickups. Don't get back home very much these days.   Winter is about 4 months shorter in Texas. It has been in the 70s for the last 10 days and some trees are budded out. Daffodils, english peas and strawberries are in bloom. Frogs are cherpin down by the pond. The yard was full of Robins on their way north for the summer.  Average last freeze is March 15.     I planted 500 pounds of Minnisota seed potatoes last week. By hand. One piece at a time. Lasota, Kennbebeck and Yukon Gold. Need a rain. 80% chance late Thursday |

Heck, last week there were a couple of indians that wandered out of the timber hunting for buffalo. I hear that we may even get 'lectricity and them new fangled talking machines that Mr.Edison invented soon! |
