OK now some help on removing the U-joint yoke from the input shaft on transmission.

Have a oil leak by the seal plate , between the yoke and seal. Problem is I can't get the yoke off the shaft to seal the area. Have removed nut and have puller on yoke and have used straight pull and tapped with hammer opposite rotation direction. Used air chisel with blunt tool to jar yoke while pulling but still no luck getting it loose.

Cant remember when I put in new seal but many years back and it looks like i may have used Red silicone to seal where seal mounts to yoke.

Need some ideas other or including heat but do not want to destroy the bellows and spring area of seal.

I have an HD6G, my problem is that the yoke is too loose and will fall off if I loosen the retaining nut.

Anyway, how about a little bit of heat while the puller is on and under force? You don't have to heat it cherry red, but at least get it warm, as warm as it would be if the engine had been running for a while. If your in a cold environment it may help to get the yoke warm, at least warmer than the shaft. And of course a couple of solid taps with a brass hammer always helps.

red locktite needs some heat to remove. they make a spray that stops heat from spreading past where it is sprayed. it is like a jell to stop heat from traveling past where you want it, that might work if you spray it behind yolk. they sell it at welding stores and my matco tool man usually stocks it also. that will allow more heat to be put to the yolk. i ill get the name tomorrow.
