About how much extra power do you get if you put a WD45 kit in a WD? Previous owner of my WD says there's a WD45 kit in it and I was just curious how much difference it makes.

You need the 45 crankshaft and then it equals a WD45 for HP otherwise you actually lose HP with 45 pistons in a WD with a WD crankshaft.

My Dad had a 1953 WD that had an M&W kit put in it at OH time and it was represented to be like a WD45.....it was never close to the WD45 we had an it was stock. Maybe if the WD had the 45 manifold AND carb AND air cleaner it would have been closer thaqn it was.

Hard for  me to believe that a 201 with 4.125 mailto:m@w - m&w pistons would make 45 hp even with the carb and intake upgraded to a 45 for it is still 13 cubic inches smaller.
