I paid $250 or $300 for a good 16 foot 1200 cultivator.  Front shoves were a little worn.  Removed the outside wings and made it a 13'.    If it comes with cylinders and good tires $500 would be a steal.  Mike

You'd pay under $600.00 here in my area of Iowa for that at a consignment sale.  That's if it's in good working condition, they usually sell for anywhere from 100 to 600

Eldon, that looks like a 1200. A 1300 is longer, and a 1400 is longer yet.  I have a 1300 DA 24ft that looks way different. I gave $1500 for mine 5 years ago.

That is a model 1300.

But not 24'
It is a 32-1/2 footer - 65 shanks, 6" apart

Normally 200-500 in SW MO  Ive seen 2 sell in that range and thought real hard about buying them both out of principal.  We have one and when the conditions are right for it, it works great.

Bobby has it right. It is a an early version 1300 with the long wings. I still use a 24.5' 1300 that I bought new in 1977 and pulled it with my first D-21. There were years it cultivated 2000 acres. Recent years it only does about 400 acres. Have a buster bar and double rolling crumbler mounted on the rear. All original shanks except for about 6.  I bought a D-A 1300 (new design tongue) 26.5' a few years ago from an Agco dealer for $2500. I use it for the first pass and the originial 1300 as a finishing cultivator. I'm never at the auctions where they sell cheap.

Well I did plan on pulling the wings off like I did with the 1600 chisel...but it does look like it might be tricky pulling it 80 miles to get it here.

Quincy is about 150 west of me...this one is down in the Palouse, SW of me. Big wheat country....this unit is a little too small nowadays that is why they go cheap.  Too small for the big guys and too big for the little guys. Problem is the roads aren't straight out here...and I would have to scout out a route ahead of time to make sure there aren't any narrow bridges or low overhead bridges to go under.  Don't want to take the freeway again.....too many crazy drivers.

The machine pictured has the center section and the WIDE wings.
And on each wings are a 6" extension, a 12" extension and a 18" extension.

A center and pair of wide wings would be 59 shanks = 29-1/2'

Add a pair of 6" extensions and you have 61 = 30-1/2'

Then add the 12" for 63 = 31-1/2'

And with the 18" extensions 65 = 32-1/2'

The center section and a pair of the shorter wings is  23-1/2'
Up to 26-1/2' with all the extensions.
By SHORT wings I mean shorter than the wide wings, but having hydraulic controlled wheels.
I don't know much about the short wings with the fixed non hydraulic wings.

But that does not mean someone has not added or removed a shank or two.

To be sure of a digger's size - Count the shanks and take that number times the spacing.

I got a new 32-1/2' 1300 in 1977. Pulled it home from Genesor Imp Store with my One-Ninety XT. Planned to pull it with the big bad Cat V8 powered Oliver.
But dad was using the Oliver to incorp weed dope with the disk. He wondered I could get a field ready to plant with  the One-Ninety on the new 1300?

So I tryed it. Pulled it just fine. Must not be in the ground enough. So I went over to brother who had been runnung a 1300 for 2 years.
I had the thing in the correct depth.
It was dry and they pull a bunch easier in dry dirt.

Later I got a 26-1/2 footer fr chem incorp. Used the 32-1/2 right in front of the planter.

Traded both for a brand new nazi green 30' model 1400 about 1990.
It pulls quite a bit harder.

Then about 2000 I found a 37-1/2' model 1400 with pre-nazi A-C paint for a unbeiveable low price at a CaseIH dealer. Got it.

If I incorp the 30 footer goes on the White 2-155, the big one on the 7080.

If you really put it in the ground the 30 footer will make the 7080 smoke like a factory.
And running not too deep, but deep enough the 155 has pulled the 37-1/2 footer.

Allis-Chambers 0r DA or AGCO Allis model 1300 and 1400 diggers can be real deals on green or red equipment lots. They assume they are no good.
If they only knew they were probably the best digger of their time.
And the 1400 had as much trash clearance as anybody in the mid/late 80s.

I have seen good looking model 1300 digger from a few hundred to a few thoursand dollors.

Offer the guy $500- to $750-. He may take it.

I paid $400 for a 17 foot 1200 last year.  No harrow.   I have rebuilt one wing cylinder and replaced one wheel bearing.  Had to replace many of the shovels.
