I remember at one time they had a very high market share.

A division of MINPAR had them and the back-hoe and smaller loaders TCI or something like that, then it was sold to Ingersol which was sold or aquired , then ?

I have an ACC 25 that I use in the shop. I still buy AC parts from Herc-U-Lift in Maple Grove MN. The AC line was sold several times and is currently owned by Tusk, which I believe is an affiliate of Komatsu.

On another note, I had coffee several days ago with a former Nuclear Engineer who worked at AC in West Allis, developing the nuclear reactors which they sold. After Three Mile Island, however that division was sold to Siemens. He was a very interesting person to say the least.

Had real good feeling dealing with Herc-U-Lift , real helpful as they sold the Industrial line of AC along with forklift. Last parts I got for my 715B hoe i ordered through them.

unsure of old shop forman is still there but he was a wealth of information on HD4, 715B and even the HD5 questions i talked to him on.

the light ind division was sold to CDC then Minn Parr however i wanted to know about the fork TRUCK division. This was a separate division from all else and only sold indoor type warehouse fork trucks.

You are correct in that the fork truck division was sold originially to Kalmar.

The industrial forklift and backhoe business was sold to CDS or CDI (they used both).

My neighbour has a CDS 708 forklift with a Cummins engine. Same as A-C except for the engine.

Minpar bought the drawings for the dozers, scrapers, etc and supplies parts for a lot of discontinued brands besides Allis-Chalmers..

Kalmar bought AC forklift. Komatsu built the small AC's. Same as Komatsu. Kalmar pulled the plug putting AC into history.
