I have been nursing this tractor for 25 years but the trans is stuck in 2 speeds. I have taken it apart and found that the keeper for 2nd and reverse pushed off spline, need a new gasket or someone with the desire to take over repairs. Comes with snowblower and wagon.

It is in the hudson valley in new york

You can source a complete rear end and replace just that and keep going without messing with getting into the internals of a transmision. If parting with the tractor is set then try posting it in the classifieds at simpletractors.com Thats all they deal with is the yard and garden side of the AC stuff.
