After a year long hiatus I’m glad the D14 is back on track. Bought this one owner over a year ago 5 hours away. Although a low hour tractor(tach delete)according to pedals and over all condition, sitting in an open front barn its entire life the paint had pretty much disappeared. Sheet metal was in really good condition with minor pitting and 1 dent in the rear corner of the left fender. The rest of the sheet metal was in really nice condition for its age. The gentleman ordered it new in 1959, oddly a cigar lighter and front brush guard was its only 2 options. An Oxford blade and 2 bottom slat plow was also purchased. I have added power steering, a NOS tach, full set of rear pie weights as well as front wheel weights. As far as I know it should be close to a fully optioned D14. Only issue when I purchased it was leaking seals and o-ring that caused brake issues. So I’ve disassembled and replaced all faulty parts in that area. The tractor ran great but it did need a new manifold due to a broken ear on cylinder 4. Thankful to several forum members, Paul, Jared, Gary and Ryan that I purchased parts from. A special thanks to my buddy Tim whom provided me with 8 new clips for my essentrics. Anyway, for the past 2 months I have finally jumped back into it and I trailered it home today from my buddies farm paint shop where I brought the actual tractor skeleton home. Rims, wheel centers, essentrics, and all sheet metal was sand blasted. I used a needler on the tractor itself. Sheet metal is next in the paint booth. I’m certainly not the best painter in the world but she looked pretty nice when I loaded her up. Everything gets etching primer, gray primer, and 3 coats of PPG PO2. Looking forward to this D14 doing some garden plowing and my main hay rake tractor. It’s big brother, D17D is also a 3 black bar 1959 which I did a few years ago. Cant wait to see them side by side.
