| I’m in the market for a 105 -120 hp tractor. Dealer has a 8010 2WD PS 4300 hrs for 29.5K. The tractor has been repainted and the interior looks good except the bottom seat cushion has some wear. Price seems high but maybe it’s been so long since I’ve looked at tractors I’m behind the times. |

| While they are a good tractor, that's certainly more than I would want to pay. The hours, if correct, might actually be considered low for a 40 year old tractor. But, it is a 40 year old tractor too. |

| If a person was interested I would get the whole story as best you can on the tractor. Was it one owner. Why was it traded in? Was it their big tractor or just a chore tractor? Any major work done to it lately. Is the new paint hiding a t**d. 4 new tires? |

| There is a guy near us (northern NY state on the Canadian border) that had an 8010 FWD for sale for $16000. I'm pretty sure he bought it new. He has sold his farm. I can check to see if it's available if you are interested in it. |

| It's a 2WD and without fluid and weights tips the scales at 12,400 lbs. A little over the 100 lbs per PTO HP that most tractors need (108 HP x 100 lbs is 10,800 lbs), but not anywhere like an FWA tractor with the axle weight and gears that need to be turned to make it work. |

We have an 8010, ps, 2wd. It is used for spraying and fert application. We use a Hardi 650 sprayer, 60' booms and it does fine as long as you keep the rpm's up. In the fall it gets put on the fert buggy. Lots of acres and hours but no tillage. Don't know what your gonna use your new tractor for but the 8010, in my book, is a great utility tractor. If your looking to turn some dirt, I would not suggest the 8010. I will say, the 8010 is very efficient on fuel for what we do. As said above, I would not give that much for an 8010. We bought ours in the spring of 2016. It came with duals, decent tires, descent cab and 5xxx hrs. I think it cost us $17.900 after shipping from up north (forum member, sight unseen). I have a 7010 which is close to being an 8010 and it is a really good round bale tractor. Good for going up and down hills with a nearly full bale in the round baler since the tractor is heavy. The horse power is good for round baler and it is efficient on fuel versus larger tractors. I think an 8010 would be better due to increased cab visibility over the 7010. However, it does not do well for tillage due to limited horsepower so I agree with Leon there. One with a rebuilt motor or extremely nice I would think would not exceed $20,000.00. At that price, you are now in the John Deere range for similar horsepower and year built. You would also have about 25,000 more parts tractors out there versus only about 1,800 parts tractors for the 8010.
