Its great they keep the Allis Chalmers name alive by writing these articles, but when little research is done, and they try to summarize a company as big and diverse and rich in history as Allis Chalmers was, it does more harm then good. This article seems to use the same history as the AI generated BS that plays on Youtube. Its so vague, and filled with non facts, its not worth reading.

Just my opinion

The publisher of this site gives basic information on not just AC but many businesses , it's kind of a primer for one to ask more questions and research oneself
Original published a few years back before AI was the answer for everything .

Evidently AI is using this article as fact than, because it not accurate. For example at its peak Allis Chalmers had over 60,000 employees, the plant in west Allis had over 30,000.
Allis Chalmers didn't run 4th to Case, when they started making tractors that was true, but into the late 60's until the demise Allis Chalmers ran number 3. Allis Chalmers downfall wasn't because they were so diversified , per se, or because they didn't dominate the industries they were in.
Pretty sure Mercedes doesn't dominate the car industry, or Rolls Royce, so that thinking is completely wrong. Reading these articles just proves to me, there was very little if any research done, into the matter.

I thought it was a pretty good article, with a lot of old photos... They said 30,000 employees in 1950... NOT at its peak...... lots of opinions on WHY Allis fell apart.. I dont think you can say anyone is completely RIGHT or WRONG... There were MULTIPLE screwups / timing / govt input that lead to the downfall..... For  someone looking to get an "IDEA" of what happened to ALLIS, the article would give them a good idea..

Like them all, but love the "B"s.
